Acting Dean Myra J. Tawfik is pleased to announce the expansion of the Career Services Office.  On January 3, 2012, Natalie DeHaney-Stewart will join the Career Services Office as the new Social Justice Coordinator.

Natalie is a graduate of Windsor Law and a previous recipient of a Windsor Law Social Justice Fellowship, where she interned at the Congolese Initiative for Justice and Peace in the Congo.   During law school, Natalie was active in both Community Legal Aid and the University of Windsor Mediation Service.  She served as president of the Black Law Students Association, Windsor Chapter and was an admissions file reader.   After completing her law degree, Natalie articled at the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, before commencing her practice as a lawyer/mediator.

Dean Tawfik noted that “in keeping with our commitment to access to justice, the Social Justice Coordinator will enable the Career Service Office to more fully serve our student body.  Students interested in public service, social justice opportunities and other non-traditional paths will benefit from this enhanced service”.

Funding for this new part time position is provided by the University’s Strategic Priorities Fund and fees resulting from a student referendum held in 2010.

Please join us in extending a warm Windsor Law welcome to Natalie.
