
On May 25, 2012, SSHRC announced the award of a Partnership Development Grant for the establishment of a “Great Lakes Policy Research Partnership”. The research team, led by Dr. Carolyn Johns of Ryerson University, includes Prof. Marcia Valiante of Windsor Law, along with a number of prominent political science and law scholars from Ontario and U.S. universities across the Great Lakes Basin. The objective of the project is to work collaboratively to generate better understanding of effective governance arrangements and appropriate institutions for achieving binational environmental goals for the Great Lakes. The award is for $200,000 over two years.
