Speaker Bios:
Claudine N. Wilson
Claudine Wilson earned a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Public Administration from Carleton University and obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. She also holds a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Centre in Washington, D.C. Ms. Wilson is currently Lead Counsel for the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society and has been practicing in the area of child protection since 2007. She has been a sessional Instructor of law courses in the St Clair College continuing education department, and enjoys active community involvement. Ms. Wilson was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor to the Council of the College of Dieticians of Ontario in 2013, and she also enthusiastically serves as the Associate Executive Director for Rapha Christian Centre in Windsor, Ontario.
Eleanore Sunchild
Eleanore Sunchild is a proud member of the Thunderchild First Nation. Eleanore obtained her Bachelor of Arts in political science in French immersion at Faculte St. Jean, University of Alberta. She then obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law in 1998 and since 1999 has been a practicing member of the Saskatchewan Bar.
Eleanore is the sole owner of Sunchild Law. Sunchild Law specializes in assisting First Nations people with their Indian residential school claims. In addition, Sunchild Law recently launched class action litigation on behalf of Sixties Scoop survivors in Saskatchewan. Eleanore is sought after for her knowledge of the Indian residential schools system, Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop and the historic and continuing impact of these colonial policies on generations of First Nations. Eleanore maintains an unyielding connection to her family, culture, language and tradition and with her husband, Tony, Eleanore raises five children.
Frank E. Walwyn
Frank Walwyn is a litigation partner at WeirFoulds LLP in Toronto, Canada with a multi-jurisdictional practice that focuses on high-stakes business disputes. He is licensed to practise law in Canada, and is also a member of the bars of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada and St. Kitts and Nevis. The cases Frank has litigated range from multi-jurisdictional corporate disputes involving shareholder rights and directors' duties, to forensic investigations into fraud and corruption, to reciprocal registering and recognizing judgments from Canada, the UK, the US and the Caribbean, to complex offshore trusts and estates litigation, frequently involving assets in varied foreign jurisdictions. Frank is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been repeatedly named as one of Canada's top lawyers in the area of Corporate and Commercial Litigation in The Best Lawyers in Canada. Frank participates on many legal and community boards and initiatives and is a frequent presenter and skills trainer at continuing professional development programs on various legal topics. Frank has been recognized often for his significant contributions and dedication to the profession and the community, including as a recipient of the Ontario Bar Association Award for Distinguished Service (2016), the Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion (2016), the Planet Africa Award for Professional Excellence (2014), The Law Society of Upper Canada's Lincoln Alexander Award (2013) and a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).
