Post #4: When and Where to Buy Textbooks!

On the CLEW or uWindsor Bookstore websites, you will be able to see the textbook list for your classes. Some professors differentiate between required and supplementary texts, whereas others do not.

I recommend that you wait until the first week of classes before making any purchases. This way you will be able to confirm with the profession exactly what books, statutes, and/or other materials, you need, and most importantly the edition that you are expected to use.

Where should I purchase my textbooks?

The Bookstore (now located in the CAW) does have a large inventory of new books.

I recommend that you consider purchasing used books, in order to save a lot of money. The Bookstore does have a limited supply of used texts, but the upper-year students are willing to sell their texts at a discounted (and often fair) price. Check out the Textbook Exchange Facebook Group. Make sure you inquire about the condition (marks, highlighting edition) of the book before you purchase!

You can also purchase materials through third-parties such as Amazon or LexisNexis where most legal texts are for sale.
