I am very pleased to announce that Camille Cameron has accepted an appointment as Dean of Law for a five year term beginning January 1, 2012. Currently she is Professor of Law and Director of the Civil Justice Research Group at Melbourne University in Australia. She brings to Windsor a distinguished career which includes professional practice, international experience, many publications and research grants, and a number of teaching appointments. Her areas of interest include Administration of and Access to Civil Justice, Dispute Resolution, Class Actions, The Regulatory Role of Civil Litigation, Tobacco Litigation, Comparative Civil Procedure, and Court Reform in Transitional Legal Systems. Her c.v. is available by clicking here.

I hope you will join me in welcoming Camille to the University of Windsor, and extend her your support as she leads the Faculty of Law through the next phase of its development. I will be consulting with the Faculty of Law Council to arrange an Acting Dean for the six month period between the end of Professor Bruce Elman's current term as Acting Dean on June 30 and the beginning of Dean Cameron's term on January 1.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Search Committee for their dedication, hard work and judicious decision making during a long search process.
