Meet Windsor's Chief Resident

Welcome to Windsor!

Family Medicine Residency in Windsor is a unique experience that I highly encourage you to explore.  Windsor is a diverse community – economically, culturally, and socially — and this translates into a diverse medical education as well.  Windsor residents train in a very hands-on and real-life setting with supervisors who represent the front line of medicine, far away from the ivory towers of academia.  We have the opportunity to see a vast array of patient populations, and many of our family physician supervisors have special interests (geriatrics, hospitalist, occupational health, research, education, etc) which help to complement resident training here.

Off-service rotations in Windsor are also great...  Although Windsor is a reasonably large city, the medical community here is small, and there is great respect between family physicians and other specialists.  These specialists recognize the workload and expertise of family doctors in the community, and respect the training of family medicine residents.  They are eager to teach, and they do their best to provide meaningful learning experiences and minimize administrative tasks.  Residents are here to learn, not just to serve.

Windsor residents also have the opportunity to participate in the education of Schulich Windsor medical students.  These students (who train through a combined UWO and University of Windsor program) look to our local residents for guidance and education throughout their training.  From first year clinical skills to clerkship on-the-ward responsibilities, residents participate in a very rewarding teaching environment on a regular basis.

Please browse through our website and feel free to contact us for more information.  The more you find out, the more you will see that the Family Medicine Residency in Windsor has something for everyone!
