Schulich Medicine Cross Campus Lecture Attendance Policy

From time to time in the course of the four-year MD program, students assigned to one Schulich Medicine campus may find themselves wanting or needing to attend lecture at the opposite campus to which they are assigned.

Campus assignment is done deliberately to ensure that there are adequate resources and learning opportunities for all students and therefore attending lecture at a site to which a student is not assigned is allowed only on rare occasions and at the discretion of the appropriate Administrative offices of Schulich Medicine.

Students must request permission in writing from the Student Affairs Office to attend lecture at the opposite campus.

• Permission for compassionate or academic* reasons will be granted on a case-by-case basis
• Students who attend lecture at the opposite campus without permission will be asked to report to Student Affairs and counselled on this infraction as this is considered a clear breach of professionalism
• Students who are found attending the opposite campus for a second time without appropriate permission will be required to meet with the Associate Dean - Undergraduate Medical Education or the Associate Dean - Windsor Program and a letter will be placed in their file

*Academic reasons are defined as:

• Conferences sponsored by Schulich Medicine (medical or scientific);
• Required activities or meetings related to research projects in SRTP/SROP

Proof of scheduled meetings may be required
