On the evening of April 14, 2018, the University of Windsor’s Choirs will host their “Cabaret for Carnegie Hall”, a concert event to raise funds for their May 19th performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The event, taking place at the University of Windsor’s School of Creative Arts, will include performances by students and feature prominent faculty member and Detroit-based jazz singer Shahida Nurullah.

“This is such an amazing opportunity and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve been getting,” says Madeline Doornaert, head of the event’s executive team. “We’re so excited to represent the University of Windsor’s School of Creative Arts and our city on such a major platform.”

In addition to the main concert, other fundraising efforts, including a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, and a concession stand, will round out the evening. “Cabaret for Carnegie Hall” has been planned, organized, and executed by the choristers with some guidance from key faculty members.

The Choirs also have a GoFundMe page and their event is also on Facebook. Here are the links:

About the University of Windsor Choirs: The University of Windsor Choirs are led by Dr. Bruce Kotowich, director of choirs at the University of Windsor’s School of Creative Arts and principal figure in the Windsor choral community. Students involved in these choirs range from music majors to those studying a variety of other disciplines at the university. The choirs are very active in the community as they frequently perform with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and appear annually at the Windsor Choral Festival in addition to performing at their own concerts.
