This masterclass if free to audit. The public is welcome.

A select number of current SoCA voice students will perform for Ms. Driscoll during this masterclass.

 

CLINICIAN PROFILE

Singing actress, Karen Driscoll, sopranoSinging actress, Karen Driscoll, soprano, has attracted considerable interest from her appearances throughout North America during past numerous seasons. Her repertoire includes the title roles in Massenet's Manon, Floyd’s Susannah and Handel’s AgrippinaAdditional roles include Mimi & Musetta (La Bohème), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Juliette (Romèo et Juliette), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Nedda (I Pagliacci), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan tutte), Micaëla (Carmen), Antonia (Les Contes d'Hoffman), Sieglinde and Gutrune in Jonathan Dove's Ring Saga and Elle (La voix humaine).
 
Ms. Driscoll has sung with Seattle Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Florentine Opera, L'Opéra de Montréal, Vancouver Opera, Virginia Opera, Baltimore Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, National Lyric Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera Columbus, Toledo Opera, Opera Carolina, Hawaii Opera Theater, Fresno Grand Opera, New Jersey State Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Long Beach Opera, DiCapo Opera, Worcester Chorus and Masterwork Chorus.
 
She also has been a winner of many prestigious awards including the Grand Prize in the Lee Schaenen Foundation competition and the Gilbert Artist of the Year Award from the Florida Grand Opera.  She is a graduate of The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance.  She currently teaches voice as an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University and NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development.
