Please join Dr. Philip Adamson and the piano faculty in welcoming Windsor-native and internationally respected pianist Darrett Zusko to the School of Music’s Recital Hall for an intimate performance of works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt (program details below) on Friday, March 2, 2012, 7:30 pm. We describe this performance as intimate because the recital hall seats an audience of 66 -- every seat will be close to the soloist.

Directions and Parking
The School of Music building is located on the south-west corner of Wyandotte St. W. and Sunset Ave. There are parking meters along Sunset south of Wyandotte (just south of the Music building) and along Wyandotte east of Sunset Ave. Parking at these meters is free after 6 pm. There are two nearby Pay and Display parking lots accessed from Sunset Ave. One is located immediately north of the Odette School of Business (bookstore parking) and the other is located behind Clarke Residence 1/3 block south of the Music building on Sunset.

Many of these performances have been recorded for CBC Radio and Radio-Canada broadcasts, airing on such shows as Tempo, In Performance, Symphony Hall, Next!, Sunday Afternoon in Concert, and Music Around Us. Mr. Zusko continues to be heard regularly on CBC Radio and has also been broadcast a number of times on NPR in the United States.
Mr. Zusko will hold a Masterclass on Friday, March 2, 2:30 - 4:30 pm at the School of Music in room 139. Area pianists are invited to audit the masterclass free of charge.
A graduate of Juilliard, Darrett Zusko was born in Windsor in 1984. He took an interest in piano at an early age, and began his formal training with Dr. E. Gregory Butler. After a number of years of study, he went on to work privately with Ronald Turini at the University of Western Ontario, before ultimately deciding to further pursue his training in New York with Julian Martin. Subsequently, he studied intensively with Marc Durand in Toronto and in master classes with Leon Fleisher. In addition to his primary teachers, Mr. Zusko has also had the opportunity to work with a number of distinguished figures in the music world, including Anton Kuerti, Marek Jablonski, and Dominique Weber -- all of whom he considers to have played important roles in his development as an artist.
