Lancers claim second straight CIS national title

The No. 1 ranked Lancer men's track & field team are national champions. With a dominating performance on the final day of the CIS Championships, the Lancers won their second consecutive and tenth national team title.
 
Heading into the final day six points behind the Guelph Gryphons, the Lancers pulled out a total team effort and came out with a commanding win finishing the day with 93 points, 13.5 points ahead of the Gryphons who finished with 79.5 points, and the Toronto Varsity Blues who finished in third with 56 points.
 
Corey Bellemore had an outstanding performance in the men's 600m pulling ahead of Toronto's Stacha Smart in the final 100m of the race to claim gold in a time of 1:18.77.
 
Eli Pawliw claimed a silver medal in the men's shot put with a huge throw of 16.63m, while teammate Brett Boersma placed fifth in the event with a throw of 15.88m.
 
Distance runner Taylor McArthur brought home Windsor's third individual medal of the day with a bronze medal performance in the 1500m. The Chatham, ON native earned an important six points for the Blue & Gold finishing the race in a time of 3:51.99.

As a result, Bellemore was named CIS male performer of the meet, while interim head coach Brett Lumley was named the CIS Men's coach of the year.
