MScN student Fran Meloche awarded Anne C. Beckingham Scholarship by CGNA

June 26, 2014 - Congratulations to Fran Meloche, a MScN student (and nursing sessional instructor) under the supervision of Dr. Lorna de Witt, who has been awarded a $2,000 Anne C. Beckingham Scholarship by the Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association. The purpose of the scholarship is to support outstanding Registered Nurses who are studying in a graduate degree program relevant to career development, preferably in gerontological nursing. The adjudication panel unanimously selected Fran’s submission from a pool of eight high quality applications from across Canada. Members of the adjudication committee were particularly impressed with the quality and thought that was incorporated in her application. Fran’s thesis is an ethnographic study of how positive precepted clinical placements are fostered among pre-graduate nursing students in long-term care homes.
