Dr. Michelle Freeman attains CPPS

August 23, 2012 - Dr. Michelle Freeman received the credential of Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) from the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety in August 2012. This credential, CPPS, identifies individuals who are competent in patient safety science and its application.

Nursing faculty members receive several grants and awards

April 23, 2012 - Nursing Faculty members are recognized for several recent achievements:

1) Jamie Crawley - received the prestigious MNRS Dissertation Award during the MNRS conference in Dearborn, Michigan.

2) Susan Fox and Debbie Rickeard on their successful receipt of the UW Women's research grant

3) Debbie Dayus and Jamie Crawley on their receipt of the CLIF grant

Alumni appointed Canadian Head of the Global Healthcare Centre of Excellence.

Recent Alumni Association Award of Merit recipient Janet Davidson (BScN ’71, LLD ’09) is on the move, with the announcement that she has been appointed as the Canadian Head of the Global Healthcare Center of Excellence. "The role as Head of the Global Healthcare Center of Excellence offers a unique opportunity to deliver innovative healthcare solutions," said Davidson. "The Canadian healthcare system is a reference point for many international jurisdictions seeking innovative solutions to their substantive issues. We have insights and best practices to share.

Nursing alum receives Alumni Award of Merit

The Alumni Association's Annual General Meeting & Awards Presentations will feature the presentation of their highest honour, the Alumni Award of Merit, to Janet Davidson, BScN '71, LLD '09, President & CEO of Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Working her way to the top, Davidson started her career as a general duty nurse before moving into administrative roles with the Red Cross, Alberta Department of Health.

Nursing Alum proud of UWindsor contacts

Katie Moriarty (BScN 1985) is proud of the way that contacts she made studying nursing at the University of Windsor remain important to her work. A clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing, she is one of the founders of a project to bring nursing students from Taiwan to see the Canadian and U.S. health care systems. A group of four third-year students from Taipei Medical University were on the UWindsor campus last week.
