Clearance Process:
Students will be responsible for making an appointment online (www.uwindsor.requisite.ca) with a company called "ParaMed" to be cleared prior to their clinical course and clinical placements. This clearance only needs to be done once per year - for most students, this takes place before they enter the fall semester.
Appointments can only be made at the Windsor location. ParaMed's Windsor address is 215 Eugenie Street West, Suite# 106, Second Floor, Windsor.
Students will bring all of their completed requirements / documents (immunizations, police clearance report, etc.) along with a photocopy of all documents to a nurse at the ParaMed office who specializes in the collection of student forms. This "requisite nurse" will then let the student know whether they are "cleared" to go to clinical or "not cleared" meaning they have something outstanding. If the student is "not cleared", they will have to make one or more additional appointments until they are "cleared" for clinical.
Students will be charged a fee for each visit to the ParaMed office. This is why it is vitally important that students have all required documentation and photocopies ready at the time of their first appointment.
Students are responsible to download the medical / non-medical forms they need for clinical placements that will be available on this webpage. A checklist of requirements is also included with the medical form so that students can see what they need.
Please read over the updated presentation and information package as some of the program medical / non-medical requirements have changed from last year. More detail regarding the immunizations/tests needed will be found on the medical forms when you download them from the Faculty of Nursing website. Please note clearance deadlines, as follows:
BScN Collaborative and Post-diploma Students*:
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Students*:
Graduate (MN/MSc) Students*:
* Note: Students must be registered in their clinical or program course prior to making the ParaMed appointment.
