MBA/JD student relishes meeting with Attorney General

Odette School of Business and Windsor Law MBA/JD student Khalfan Khalfan was afforded the rare opportunity to meet with Attorney General of Canada Rob Nicholson who was visiting Windsor to hold round table discussions on crime with local law enforcement and community partners.

A University of Windsor alumnus, Nicholson said he regularly holds round table sessions across the country to gain community-level input.

Khalfan recognized the experience as a unique opportunity, stating, “When Professor Marsh approached me about the opportunity to join the Attorney General and a few others for lunch, I couldn’t pass up the chance to network, engage, and learn from one of Windsor Law’s most publically prominent alumnus. Meeting the top-prosecuting officer in Canada is of interest to any law student across Canada regardless of their legal career interests, whether it is corporate commercial law or constitutional litigation.”

Through his conversations with Minister Nicholson, Khalfan reaffirmed his understanding that politics, business, and law are all not severable from one another. “I learned that regardless of your political views: right wing, left wing, or no wings, the attorney general is always fighting for the interests of the general public.”
