Pulse of the Region

Our annual “Pulse of the Region” business confidence survey captures the perceptions of local business leaders regarding current and future business conditions and economic trends in the Windsor-Essex County region. Specifically, the report addresses executives’ views and/or their organization’s results with respect to:

• Government policy
• Sales and financial performance
• Condition of the economy
• Investment, capacity and productivity prices
• Employment levels
• Inventory and production

This survey began under the direction of Dr. Craig Fleisher in 2005.  Maintenance of this historical data now enables meaningful comparisons with past perceptions. Currently, the survey is under the stewardship of Dr. Gerry Kerr, Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship here at Odette. Dr. Kerr’s research focuses on corporate-level strategy, immigrant/ethnic entrepreneurship, older entrepreneurs, and small-firm management.
