
The Odette School of Business is pleased to welcome Detroit Red Wings Senior Vice President and General Manager, Ken Holland as the special guest speaker at the upcoming Breakfast with Champions: How to Build Winning Organizations event to be held on Thursday, March 1, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Caboto Club in Windsor.
Ken Holland enters his 15th season as general manager of the Red Wings and his 29th year with the organization. He is arguably the most successful general manager in all of professional sports over the last 14 years. Since his appointment in July 1997, the Red Wings have won more games (741) than any other franchise in the National Hockey League, including 635 regular-season wins and 106 playoff victories.
Under Holland’s watch the Red Wings have won three Stanley Cups (1998, 2002, 2008); four Presidents’ Trophies (2002, 2004, 2006, 2008); ten Central Division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011) and five regular-season Western Conference titles (2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008).
During the event Mr. Holland will discuss the fundamental leadership attributes and processes he utilized to build a winning organization.
The Breakfast with Champions speaker series is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. The sessions are open to University of Windsor students and faculty, as well as all residents of the Windsor-Essex County area. The Caboto club is located at 2175 Parent Avenue on the corner of Tecumseh Road.
