The Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Department of Political Science are committed to providing funding for graduate students at the University of Windsor. If you are accepted to the M.A. program, we will do our very best to also provide you with an attractive financial package.

Awards for Current Students

Stephen & Vicki Adams Scholarship in Graduate Studies (Political Science) Awarded annually to a Master’s student in the Department of Political Science on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or have Protected Person status. Must meet Ontario residency requirements and demonstrate financial need. Assigned. No application required.


Entrance Awards

The Department of Political Science offers several small entrance scholarships for both domestic and international students. These scholarships will be awarded to applicants that have been accepted into the program by April 1 for the following September. All applicants will be automatically considered – there is no separate application process. Entrance scholarships include:

Department of Political Science Entrance Scholarships Awards of up to $2,000 for domestic and international applicants

Stephen & Vicki Adams Entrance Scholarship in Graduate Studies (Political Science) Two awards annually to Masters students in the Department of Political Science based on academic achievement and financial need. Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Residents.

Dr Sourinda Dutta Memorial Entrance Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Political Science Awarded annually to an international Master's student in the Department of Political Science based on academic achievement and financial need. No application required.

Barbara Faria International Graduate Student Entrance Scholarship Awarded annually to one international student entering the Political Science MA program in the Fall, based on having the highest undergraduate average (minimum of 80% or equivalent is required). Assigned. No application required.

Dr Walter L White Memorial Bursary Awarded annually to a graduate student entering the Political Science Department. Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have Protected Person status. Must meet Ontario residency requirements and demonstrate financial need. Students can apply once only during their degree. Assigned. No application required.

 

Graduate Teaching Assistantships are also available to students for up to three terms. Students applying to the MA program will be automatically considered for a position. Please also check the Faculty of Graduate Studies website for information on other scholarships or awards that may apply to you.
