Research
My research interests focus on millenarianism, political theory, and women and the military.  My current research project explores the rise of conspiracy theories as a mode of explanation in North American political discourse.  While some people might see conspiracy theories as harmless eccentricities, this way of thinking embodies an ideological structure that paradoxically fosters both extremism and apathy, two tendencies that are dangerous for democracies.
