Undergraduate Programs

Politics concerns power and the relationship between those who exercise it and those over whom it is exercised.  Programs offered through Windsor's Department of Political Science allow students to explore the theoretical underpinnings of state-citizen relationships, the ways in which power is organised and used in Canada and other political systems around the world, and the changing and changeable character of international relations and world politics. Courses in our various Political Science and International Relations programs are clustered to ensure that all students receive exposure to the fields of political theory, Canadian politics, comparative politics, and international politics.  The full list of our available programs, including detailed listings of required and elective courses, can be found by clicking here or on the "Undergraduate Programs of Study" link on the left hand side of this page.

Careers

A degree in Political Science or International Relations has clear advantages for those who wish to become involved in politics, and for those planning a career in public service through employment with government or international organisations. Our graduates have found that the degree provides an excellent background for the study of law, and many have used their political science training as a basis for successful careers in teaching, journalism, and business.  Check out our Students and Alumni page to read more about what our current students are doing with their programs, or click on any of the photos of our graduates to the left to read more about what's possible with a degree in Political Science or International Relations from Windsor.
