Governance

The 2011/12 year will be the first full year with the university’s new bylaw and committee structures. This will be an exciting time, with some anticipated challenges as the Board adapts to the new systems. Although governance-related matters might take about 5% of my time, it is because we have a very well-functioning secretariat. Among the key governance-related priorities for the coming year are:

  1. Continue to place a focus on maintaining a constructive and good working relationship between the administration and the Board.
     
  2. Continue to work with the Board to assist in the recruitment of new Board and Board Committee members.
     
  3. Assist the Board as needed as it continues to develop best practices.
     
  4. Continue to pursue a collegial atmosphere at Senate.
