Increasingly, the president’s office is being looked to for engagement with the external community. In addition, our current levels of donor engagement and donations need to be increased if we are to meaningfully achieve our goals for our students and for our faculty. Outreach will be a greater priority, and will include efforts with alumni, the community, industry and government. At the centre of the outreach strategy will be a strong commitment to fundraise, to promote the directions of the University as articulated in the strategic plan, to engage alumni in believing in their alma mater, and to strive to raise our reputation.
-
Work closely with the Vice-President, University Advancement, and the Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communications, to develop the strongest messages about the university.
-
Have a minimum of 10 alumni outreach events across Canada to get people engaged.
-
Place a greater emphasis on advocacy for the university with elected members and bureaucratic officials both provincially and federally.
-
Place a priority on donor engagement related to the CEI fundraising effort
-
Continue to advocate and plan for a major 50th anniversary event in 2013.
-
Place a continuing emphasis on having positive relationships with the city and county.
-
Be a visible external face of the University on behalf of faculty, staff and students, so that there is greater opportunity for attribution of our successes to the efforts of those who study and work here.
