WRITING THREE OR MORE EXAMS ON THE SAME DAY

A student scheduled to write three invigilated final examinations in one calendar day, or three or more final

examinations in consecutive time slots over a 24-hour period, may apply to have one examination rescheduled on an

alternate examination day. The determination of which examination shall be rescheduled and the date of the alternate

examination (may be the last possible day of the examination period) shall be made by the Registrar. Please download

EXAM CONFLICTS DUE TO OBSERVANCE OF RELIGIOUS HOLY DAYS.

Students who are unable to write a final examination(s) during the regularly scheduled time slot because of a conflict

with religious conviction must apply for the alternative examination(s) in the course(s) involved by the end of the

normal add/drop period for the particular session. The Registrar's Office will schedule the alternative examination(s) for

As cities assume a growing importance in all societies, as they house an increasing proportion of the

world's people, and as they become more closely interlinked through the processes of globalisation, so they

command more attention from anthropologists and sociologists. The aim of this course is to consider the

work of anthropologists, sociologists and others who have explored and attempted to conceptualise cities

and urban spaces, urban cultures and social relations, and the intersections between cultural phenomena and

urban transformation all within the context of political economic formations. The course further aims to

familiarise students with the variable theoretical perspectives that have been brought to bear on urban life,

and the way in which ethnographic research may be undertaken in cities. Students develop the skills to

analyse and debate social issues and aspects of cities and urban life.

Mathematical methods for physicists. A physics-based approach to the utilization of advanced mathematics

commonly encountered in upper year and graduate physics courses and a partial introduction to some

exotic objects in physics that are not-so-typically encountered. Topics are not limited to, but may include:

the ubiquitous differential equations in physics and their solutions (e.g. spherical harmonics, Bessel

functions, Fourier series and Fourier transforms); complex variables and analysis; symmetries and their

importance to physics; the variational principle and the importance of action; coordinate transformations;

exotic objects (black holes, particles, higher dimensional objects); and paradoxes in physics.

An intensive seminar course provides learning experiences at the intersection of law and business. Through

readings, mini lectures, and analysis of business agreements, students prepare for participation in class

discussions to engage in active and collaborative learning. Discussions focus on real business argreements

used as case studies to enhance experiential, interdisciplinary learning, where the diversity of the course

learning community provides multiple perspectives to unpack different agreements. Prerequisite:

successful completion of 610 Business Law or 75-397

Open to MASc or PhD students in Mechanical or Materials Engineering only. Mechanical or Materials

MEng students, or graduate students from other disciplines admitted on instructor approval only.

Design for Variety (DFV), Design Structural Matrix (DSM), modularity and commonality indices, product

families and platforms, variety management methods, mass-customization and personalization,

classification and coding, grouping, variant-oriented process planning and production planning, variety

induced complexity. Experiential learning exercises. This is an advanced research-oriented graduate course

normally for MASc. and PhD students in Industrial and Mechanical engineering students with design,

automotive and manufacturing focus. Students are expected to have completed courses in design and CAD.

Familiarity with I-Deas and Siemens NX for design software is an asset. Mechanical or Industrial MEng

students or graduate students from other engineering disciplines are admitted on instructor approval only.

This course offers an anlysis of the reserach and literature related to age-friendly domains. Topics may

include the physical environment, housing, social environment, transportation, and communication,

information and media.

Nutrition is integral to the etiology, prevention, and treatment of chronic diseases. This course will

examine nutritional aspects of key chronic diseases affecting the Canadian population. There will be an

opportunity to explore, in depth, specific conditions and aspects of nutritional assessment or intervention

that interest them. This course has been designed using case-based/problem-based learning (PBL). Small

group discussion and self-directed learning are important aspects of the approach.

Newsroom situates students into a living, breathing newsroom dedicated to journalistic coverage of

University of Windsor Lancer varsity athletics. Students will engage in cross-platform content creation

(e.g. text-based, audio, audio/visual journalism) that the job market covets. Student-generated content, in

its various forms, will be posted on a course-created website. Alternating "newsroom" roles as the term

progresses, learners will experience a number of jornalitstic duties that will enhance their abilities and

understanding of sport media.

This course provides students with the opportunity to study relevant theory and principles related to

teaching and evaluation of nursing students in the clinical setting. This course will be of interest to those

pursuing a role in nursing undergraduate education. Specific topics may include; teaching and learning

strategies; learning theories, ethical and legal issues in nursing education, evaluation strategies and the role

of the teacher in the clinical setting.
