Internal Grant: Academic DevelopmentTravel Grant

Deadline: June 15, 2015
Travel grants are available to faculty and librarian members holding probationary and tenured appointments. As well, those holding limited term appointments will be considered providing they are under contract for the year in which the travel will occur. Funds are awarded for presenting an academic paper, poster, or artistic exhibition at a conference. A maximum of $1,000 is allowed for each award. For further information, the ADTF guidelines and criteria for the award, as well as the application form and process for submission please visit the ORIS website. OCE Discovery 2015

On April 27th and 28th, 40 delegates from the University of Windsor, sponsored by EPI Center and the Office of Research and Innovation Services, attended OCE`s Discovery 2015 conference.  Participants representing the University of Windsor ranged from: young entrepreneurs, graduate students and startups.  These talented individuals stood out among all other delegates for their innovative contributions to Science and Industry.  Of particular interest was University of Windsor`s Kyle Bassett Patrick who won $25,000 in the David McFadden Energy Competition.  He presented a pitch for his innovative solution to solve low energy problems in rural and isolated areas of the world by using 3D printed wind turbines, manufactured here on campus. Way to go UWindsor!

  • ORIS deadline for Notification of Intent – May 20, 2015  
  • Seeds4Hope deadline for Notification of Intent – May 26, 2015, 4 pm
  • FAHSS deadline for draft application (c/o E.Maticka-Tyndale) – June 9, 2015
  • ORIS deadline for draft application – June 16, 2015
  • Seeds4Hope deadline for application – June 30, 2015, 4 pm

SSHRC Connection Grant – August 2015 competition

  • ORIS deadline for review – July 20, 2015. Applications submitted after this date may receive a cursory review for completeness rather than suggestions for strengthening the proposal.
  • Deadline for submission to SSHRC – By 4 pm on August 3, 2015 (Subsequent Connection Grant competitions have deadlines of November 1, 2015, February 1, 2016, and May 1, 2016.)

SSHRC Partnership Development Grant

  • Schedule meeting to plan application (c/o N. Wiebe, ORIS) – May, 2015
  • FAHSS deadline for review (c/o E. Maticka-Tyndale) – October 30, 2015
  • ORIS deadline for final review – November 16, 2015
  • Deadline for submission to SSHRC – By 4 pm on November 30, 2015.

SSHRC Insight Grant

  • Notice of Intent due Monday, August 17, 2015. Please notify NatashaWiebe, ORIS, of your intent to apply for an Insight Grant. (This NOI is a courtesy, intended to help ORIS better support you. Note that a formal NOI is not required by SSHRC in 2015.)
  • Peer review of draft application: Thursday, September 24, 2015. FAHSS applicants-- Provide Eleanor Maticka-Tyndale with (1) Word files of your draft application, and (2) a completed ORIS form signed by you and your department head. Other UWindsor applicants– Contact the appropriate person within your department for a review.
  • ORIS review of draft application: Thursday, October 1, 2015.  To receive institutional approval, and feedback that will strengthen your application, send the following to NatashaWiebe:  (1) Word files of your draft application, and (2) a completed ORIS form signed by you, your department head (if applicable), and the dean.

SSHRC deadline for full application: Thursday, October 15, 2015 by 4 pm. Try to submit 2 business days earlier to avoid last-minute technical difficulties with SSHRC’s new online system.
