Welcome from Dr. Ranjana Bird, Vice-President, Research

Dr. Ranjana Bird Dr. Ranjana Bird, a cancer and nutrition researcher, began her term as the University of Windsor’s Vice-President, Research on October 1, 2007.

Dr. Bird received her Masters and PhD degrees in Nutrition/Toxicology from the University of Guelph and did her undergraduate biology studies at the University of Waterloo and Ranchi University in India. Prior to her appointment at Waterloo in 2003, she spent 14 years at the University of Manitoba, where she received a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council career award and served as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and later as Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology. She has also served as a research scientist in experimental carcinogenesis at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Toronto. She on the editorial board of the journal, Nutrition and Cancer.
