Virtual Researcher on Call (VROC)

Dear Researchers:

The University of Windsor is now a member of the Virtual Researcher On Call (VROC) program by Partners in Research.

VROC was originally funded by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities in 2006. It is now recognized as an ongoing and integral program within Ontario's education system. VROC is to enhance awareness and interest among high school students to follow a career in Science and Technology. As listed below, it connects researchers with high school students in a number of ways.

1. Career show: It includes videos of researchers (a short interview) about the choice of careers and the positive attributes of being a researcher.

2. Expert list: This will provide expert list to high schools and you could be approached to answer a specific question related to your field of research.

3. Elitist program: You could serve as a mentor to a student with very high aptitude for science and technology.

You could decide to participate or not participate. Someone from VROC (our contact is Kevin Couglar) may approach you. If you are contacted and you decide to participate, you could choose to be part of one or more options, as stated above. UWindsor has become a member for one year to determine what value we may accrue with this partnership. For additional information, please visit their website at http://www.vroc.ca/.
