Student Alcohol Education Coordinator: Catherine Joyce

Hello Everyone!

My name is Catherine Joyce, a fourth year student at the University of Windsor and for the 2011 - 2012 academic year I will be the Student Alcohol Education Coordinator. During this year, I hope to meet with a wide variety of students at the University of Windsor through my involvement in the Don't be that Guy // Don't be that Girl Program.

Don’t be that Guy // Don’t be that Girl is a campus wide program, designed to guide university students in making responsible decisions when it comes to alcohol consumption. If you would like to see how alcohol is affecting in your life, in terms of calorie consumption, financial matters, or even your Blood Alcohol Consumption Levels, take the e-CHUG challenge now. By answering a few simple questions about your drinking habits, you can learn about the effects that alcohol has on you. All information is completely confidential.

Providing alternatives for university students who are underage or prefer not to drink, and providing awareness on safe partying and alcohol responsibility for those that do, are my goals for the 2011/2012 academic year!

Nursing Student: Sandra Tilo

Hi everyone!

My name is Sandra Tilo, and I’m a fourth year nursing student at the University of Windsor.  I’m currently doing my community placement with the campus police, predominantly with the student alcohol education program.

Throughout the semester, we will be talking to students on campus about alcohol and its effect on their GPA along with other alcohol related matters. Join us by taking the e-CHUG challenge online which allows you to see how alcohol affects you.

Nursing Student: Elyse O’Halloran

Hi Everyone!

My name is Elyse O’Halloran and I am a fourth year nursing student here at the University of Windsor. I will be working with Catherine Joyce (Student Alcohol Education Coordinator) and fellow nursing student Sandra Tilo to promote alcohol awareness and risk reduction on campus.

We will be running booths and giving presentations on campus throughout the semester concerning how alcohol affects GPA as part of the “Don’t be that guy/girl” campaign. Come check us out to learn how alcohol affects your body as well as your academics.
