Windsor and Essex County have many community resources.  The following are services you may find helpful:

Brentwood Recovery Home (Provides addiction services to men and women)

Building Blocks for Better Babies (Provides education and services for pregnant women and new moms)

Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa Association (BANA; Provides services for individuals with eating disorders)

Canadian Mental Health Association (Provides a variety of services including case management and bereavement counselling). 

Community Counselling Alliance (Provides short-term, subsidized individual and family support for residents of Windsor and Essex County)  Phone 519-254-3426. 

Community Crisis Centre (Provides 24 hour crisis service.  Telephone - 519-973-4435; Walk-in - Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital ER, 1030 Ouellette Avenue)

Community Legal Aid (Provides free legal advice and assistance for certain legal matters to low-income individuals and undergraduate University of Windsor students)

Connex Ontario (Provides free and confidential health services information for people experiencing problems with alcohol, drugs, mental health or gambling)

Distress Centre (Provides telephone counselling from 12 noon - 12 midnight, 365 days a year - 519-256-5000)

Domestic Violence Program (Provides medical treatment, documentation, safety planning, and referrals for victims of domestic violence)

Gamblers Anonymous  (Provides information about gambling services across Canada and the world) 

Hiatus House (Provides services to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence)

House of Sophrosyne (Provides help for women with addictions)

The Jack Project (Provides information and support as youth move from late-high school into college, university, or independent living) 

Mental Health Connections (Provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to individuals with severe mental illness)

Mood and Anxiety Treatment Program at Windsor Regional Hospital

Mood Disorders Society of Canada (Provides people with mood disorders with a strong, cohesive voice at the national level to improve access to treatment, inform research, shape program development and government policies to improve the quality of life for people affected by mood disorders).  This includes their anti-stigma campaign, their elephant in the room campaign, and their defeat depression campaign.    

OK2BEME Windsor (Provides a series of specialized support groups for LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersexed, questioning) people who need help with coming out to their family and friends, discrimination, depression, anxiety and other issues)

Ontario Lawyers Assistance Plan (A CONFIDENTIAL provincial program for judges, lawyers, law students and their immediate family members. The services that OLAP provides include professional counseling, peer support, assessment, resource information and referrals to specialized programs and centres.)

Salvation Army (Provides addictions, rehabilitation, and shelter services)

Sandwich Community Health Centre (Provides multidisciplinary health services including counselling.  Must live in West Windsor catchment area)

Sexual Assault Crisis Centre of Windsor-Essex County (Provides counselling to male and female victims of sexual victimization)

Sexual Assault Treatment Centre (Provides medical treatment, documentation, testing, and referrals for victims of sexual assault)

Teen Health Centre (Provides medical and counselling services for individuals aged 12-24)

TV Ontario programs on Anxiety and Mental Health at Canadian Universities

Unemployed Help Centre (Provides programs and services including employment counselling, literacy development, and emergency food assistance)

Well-come Centre for Human Potential (Emergency shelter for women)

Windsor Addiction Assessment and Outpatient Services (Provides assessment and referral services to persons experiencing addictions)

Windsor Essex County Health Unit (Provides information on health promotion and health improvement)

Windsor Pride (Promotes the acceptance and celebration of LGBTT identities and lifestyles with public education, special events and partnerships with other community organizations).
