Abstract: 

The evolving landscape of computer technology provides an opportunity to discuss the diverse ways it intersects with intellectual property, employment relationships, and business. Hear from Windsor Law’s Legal Triage students on what intellectual property is and the numerous legal issues it poses for future professionals in computer science. By the end, you will be able to identify the forms of intellectual property used in the tech industry, understand how it affects you as an employee, and leverage it as an entrepreneur.
 

Bio: Vinay Thapliyal

Vinay Thapliyal is a serial entrepreneur and third-year law student at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. In 2019, he became the first law student ambassador at the EPICentre. His passion for legal creativity, entrepreneurialism and innovation led him to become the co-founder of Legal Innovation Hub and finalist at Erie Hack competition. 

Bio: Muhammad A. Khan

Muhammad A. Khan is a second-year student at Windsor Law who enjoys logical problems, intellectual discussions, fantasy novels and video games. He has a passion for intellectual property, community outreach as well as a long-standing addiction to League of Legends. He hopes to combine his legal knowledge with his other experiences to become a relatable, thoughtful and holistic lawyer and/ or entrepreneur.

Bio: Spencer Hsu 

Spencer Hsu is a second-year law student at the University of Windsor and has a passion for intellectual property and public infrastructure. He enjoys community outreach as a caseworker at Community Legal Aid and education through his work with Engineers without Borders and the University of Windsor High School Outreach Program. In his spare time, he can be found in a Dungeons and Dragons session or playing volleyball and basketball.
