Premier's Research Excellence Award Winners (PREA)

The Premier's Research Excellence Award (PREA) was established to aid gifted researchers in attracting talented graduate students, post-doctoral fellows or research associates to their research teams. The following Science faculty members were recipients of a PREA. 

 

 

Dr. Maria CioppaDr. Maria Cioppa, Department of Earth Sciences, received a PREA in October 2003 to support her research in the area of Paleomazgnetic and rock magnetic techniques: applications to Ontario studies.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Dan Heath

 

Dr. Dan Heath, Department of Biological Sciences and GLIER, received a PREA for Genetic Variation and Performance in Exploited Fish Populations

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Hugh MacIsaacDr. Hugh MacIsaac, Department of Biological Sciences and GLIER, was a recipient of a PREA Award for his work with the problem of species invasions. The award allowed Dr. MacIsaac to hire bright young researchers to help map the invasion of exotic species.xpher

 

 

Dr. Ali PolatDr. Ali Polat, Department of Earth Sciences received a PREA in 2003 to support his research in Geochemical investigation of granitoids in the Abitibi and Alaska subduction –accretion complexes.
