It is a special thrill for us each year to see the President's Medal awarded at the Spring Convocation. This year was no exception.
The President's Medal is awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement both academically and in their out-of-class activities, both on and off-campus. For many of us, it is demonstration of what the University of Windsor student experience is all about.
This year's recipient is Michael-Anthony Ferrato. Michael-Anthony earned places on the Dean’s List and President’s Honour Roll with a cumulative grade point average of 12.70 and a major grade point average of 12.90. He will continue his University of Windsor career in September as he pursues a masters degree in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Michael-Anthony has also been active in a wide range of student activities including serving as a Student Ambassador and an Outstanding Scholar. For the Lancers, he was co-founder and co-captain of the men’s baseball team and video coordinator for the basketball program. And he continued to support community athletic programs throughout his time as a student at the University. Indeed, Michael-Anthony has been very busy during his student years!
The pleasure that comes from giving and receiving across the experience is indeed very special.
