MICROCINEMAS
March 22-29, 2024
Microcinemas is a series of installations by the 2024 Intermedia Processes class that investigates how we collect and reflect upon personal objects. Some of these collections are pulled together from found objects and ephemera, while others look to family photographs and personal items as memory objects that suggest multiple impressions, partial histories, or gaps. In this exhibition projection becomes a means to explore the interrelationships between the things we hold on to and our uncertain feelings about them. The projected images and short clips serve both metaphorically and experimentally to animate objects in time and space, and as a reflexive device to illuminate everyday processes and commonplace items that are easily overlooked.
