Admission Requirements

From Secondary School (High School):

The OSS and six Grade 12 'U' or 'M' courses, including Grade 12 'U' English 1 or
The OSSD and six OAC courses including OAC English 1.

NOTE: these are the requirements for admission into the Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology Department. Once admitted to the Department students interested in studying criminology must fill out and submit an application. Applications and information sheets are available at the Office of the Registrar and must be returned to that office by May 1st at the end of a student's fourth term at the University of Windsor. No late applications will be accepted. Decisions will be rendered by June 1st, with notification shortly thereafter.

For Enrollment in Courses Above the 100 Level:

Sociology 48-101 and either 48-102 or 49-112, or the consent of the instructor are prerequisites for all Sociology courses at or above the 200 level. Additional prerequisites also may be required for some courses (see course descriptions).

For Transfer From Another Program:

Transfer from another program will require a minimum major average of B and a cumulative average of C+.

Admission to the Criminology Degree Program and any double major program involving criminology as one of the majors is extremely competitive. Not everyone who applies to the program is admitted. Places in the program are awarded to those applicants with the highest GPAs.
