Dr. Omorodion’s research interest includes African immigrant families, HIV/AIDS, trafficking, genital mutilation, and violence against women, sexuality and development. She also has interest on women and environment with focus on gendered issues on environmental impact assessment. She recently received a grant from AIDS Bureau, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, to conduct a study on the sexual and reproductive behavior of African youths in Windsor, in collaboration with Kenny Gbadebo the executive director of a community organization, Youth Connection Association of Windsor.

Her most important publications include social-cultural context of health behavior, sexual networking, complications’ in pregnancy and childbirth, violence against women and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

She teaches in the area of Family, Gender, and Sex, specifically Sociology of the Family (48-204), Theories of Sexuality (48-350), Family, Gender and Culture (48-409), and Family Politics & gender Relations (48-550).
