Financial Assistance

Students are advised to complete and submit an application to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), as a means of determining their eligibility for the Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD).

The BSWD is intended to cover additional education-related costs incurred as the result of a disability.

Students with permanent disabilities may also be eligible for the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE).

Documentation to support eligibility for the BSWD and CSG must be submitted to Advisors in Student Accessibility Services. Additional information is available through the Office of Student Awards and Financial Aid.

Scholarships for Students With Disabilities

There are a number of scholarships available to students with disabilities at university. These have varying deadlines throughout the year and are usually awarded based on academic standing, financial need and/or volunteer commitment. For more information about the various scholarships that may be available to you (and how and when to apply) refer to the NEADS Online Resource Centre.

UWSA Accessibility Fund

Full-time students (registered in four or more courses) who are not eligible for the Bursary for Students With Disabilities (BSWD) and who require funding for specific disability-related needs, may be eligible for funding through the University of Windsor Student Association (UWSA) Accessibility Fund. If you think this may apply to you and would like to explore this possibility, please contact an Advisor in SAS or a representative from the Office of Human Rights, Equity, and Accessibility (OHREA) office on campus.
