Financial Aid News & Updates

December 15, 2020 - Winter OSAP & Anticipated Aid

The issues with loading your winter OSAP disbursements to your Winter term student account so that it appears as anticipated aid has been resolved.  Please note however, that you should always confirm your disbursements by logging on to OSAP on-line as OSAP will have your most up-to-date information.  The information received by the University is always a day or two behind and it only being provided to assist you with calculating your balance owing to the University after OSAP has been deducted.

December 14, 2020 - Winter OSAP & Anticipated Aid

Please be advised that we are experiencing issues with loading your most up-to-date winter OSAP disbursement to your Winter term student account so that it is appearing as anticipated aid.  We regret this inconvience.  Until the issue is resolved, please log on to OSAP on-line to determine the amount of your Winter term disbursement and deduct this amount from your current balance owing.  If you have sufficient OSAP coming for the Winter term to cover your balance owing, you do not have to make a payment.  You will only need to pay the difference between what you owe - less any pending scholarships or bursaries - less your Winter OSAP disbursement.  We regret this inconvenience and we thank you for your patience.  At this time, we do not have an anticipated resolution date.

2019-2020 Award Payments

We anticipate having all 2019-2020 award allocations posted to the student account for all eligible students by Wednesday, August 14th including adjustments for entering students with entrance scholarships who have had an increase in their overall grade 12 U/M average qualifying them to receive a higher level scholarship.  Award allocations will not be paid to the student account officially until after the fall add/drop period however, it will appear on your student account as 'anticipated aid' for the fall term.

2019-2020 OSAP Funding

We anticipate having all fall OSAP disbursements received by the Ministry by August 23rd posted to the student account for all eligible students by Tuesday, August 27th and updating daily thereafter.  Fall term OSAP funding will appear on your student account as 'anticipate aid'.  If your OSAP anticipated aid is sufficient to cover your fees, you do not have to make a payment by August 15th.  If your OSAP anticipated aid will only cover a portion of your fees, you must pay the remaining balance (after OSAP funding is deducted) by August 15th to avoid interest charges.  We are currently experiencing some issues with this process and are working towards resolving them.  Should we not be able to post the OSAP amounts as anticipated aid, you can manually calculated the difference by accessing your fall OSAP disbursement on the OSAP website and deducting it from your current balance owing.  Please note that if you are receiving entrance or renewable scholarship, we are in the process of reporting those allocations to OSAP. Therefore, you may see a reduction in your OSAP allocation once your scholarships are applied.

March 14, 2019 - Entering Student Profile issue has been resolved.  The entering student profile is now available on the 'Applicant Homepage' via the 'Financial Aid Tasks' tile.  For students who have received and accepted their offer of admission, the 'Student Homepage' tile will be assigned at the end of April, beginning of May.  Please use the links available within the Financial Aid Tasks tile.  If you do not see any links in your task tile, please email award1@uwindsor.ca.

February 21, 2019 - The Entering Student Award Profile is now available. Students who are entering the University of Windsor, directly from High School, have been sent a UWinAward Consideration Request to their 'Tasks' tile. Once completed, the UWinAward Entering Student Profile will be assigned (within 24 hours) for students to complete. The profiles are due by March 31st 2019.

All other applicants (International and Out of Province students)  will be assigned the UWinAward Consideration Request by February 2019.

Important Note - Issue Identified - It has come to our attention that students who do not yet have an offer of admission or who have an offer of admission but who have not yet accepted their offer of admission, do not currently have access to the 'Tasks' tile in order to complete their UWinAward Entering Student Profile.  We are working on the issue and updates will be posted here.  Thank you for your continued patience.

December 14, 2018 - OSAP displaying on your student account as anticipated aid. On December 10, available OSAP data was applied to your student account as anticipated aid so that you could see how much OSAP funding was pending.  If you have sufficient anticipated aid to cover your Winter term tuition and fees, then you do not have to make a payment.  When we confirm your enrolment in early January, your OSAP funding will cover your balance outstanding.  Please note that the OSAP information that was applied to your student account was current as on December 7.  Changes made to your OSAP assessment after this date are not yet reflected.  It will be updated within the next few days.

December 14, 2018 - It has been brought to our attention that the most recent early admission offers that were sent with financial aid information had a missing link specific to the on-line application process for scholarships and bursaries - UWinAward.  The correct link should have been UWinAward.  The scholarship and bursary application process for prospective students will be available in early February. Please check back here for further updates.
