Strategic Planning timeline
The process is designed with the objectives of being fully consultative, focused, and respectful of the time pressures everyone feels. It will be a process in which everyone will have a chance to respond to the kinds of messages I have been hearing about the University of Windsor.
The goal is not to produce a long text that summarizes a multitude of complexities. It is to produce a document that in a concise way identifies those things that we as a University can agree to work towards. It is also important that the process unfolds in a timely manner. The attached timeline is proposed. It allows almost a month for consultation on what the five or six overarching strategic goals should be, and over two months to come up with action steps to support them. Ideally, the entire process will occur over a five-month period, beginning now and culminating with presentation to Senate and the Board of Governors in February 2010.
