University Players is proud to offer an exciting season of plays in 2011-12 – our 53rd season of outstanding theatre in our community. The season includes some outstanding plays, and among them, a very exciting world premiere production! Throughout the season you are certain to be captivated by a wide range of theatrical experiences, and amazed by the depth of our students' artistic endeavours.
We have established masterpieces, like Shakespeare’s ever-popular Much Ado About Nothing, Chekhov’s The Seagull, and a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic romantic comedy, Emma.
Crimes of the Heart, a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama comedy by Beth Henley will be performed again, after playing to rave reviews when last presented in 2002. Neil LaBute’s modern comedy Some Girl(s) will be the final play of the season.
We are also very excited to present the world premiere production of the thrilling mystery Chameleon – written, directed, and designed by our very own William Pinnell, a long-standing faculty member at the School of Dramatic Art who has directed and designed many productions for University Players.
