Emerging Artist Research Residency (EARR)

PLEASE NOTE : Our residency is currently on hiatus while we transition into our beautiful new downtown campus. We are excited to once again host artists in our space just as soon as we can! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

Studios
There is a large shared studio space, as well as smaller private spaces available depending on the needs of your practice. Studio spaces are very bright and include large work surfaces, assorted furniture, sinks, and safety equipment where necessary.

Facilities
The University of Windsor offers residents the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment in several areas including:
-Sculpture

-Photography (Digital & Black and White)
-Printmaking (Intaglio)

-Video
-Drawing & Painting
-Performance
-Social Practice (Please let us know in advance so we can connect you with potential community partners)

Access
During the residency you'll have 24hr studio access, and regular access to specialized technical spaces.

Supplies
Windsor has NO art supply store (we know). There is a Blick's in Downtown Detroit which is roughly 5min from the border crossing. There is also a Michael's craft supply. We recommend bringing whatever you'll need or ordering online while you're here.

Community

As part of the residency you'll take part in a public talk about your work at one of our partner organizations. Depending on interest and availability we also arrange studio visits and social gatherings to introduce residents to the local arts and culture community.
We're happy to connect you with people in both Windsor, ON and Detroit, MI, USA.
