Research Thematic Areas

On February 10, 2012, the University of Windsor's Senate approved a new Strategic Research Plan (SRP). 

The new SRP defines the following thematic research areas of strategic priority at the University of Windsor.

• Advanced Materials
• Automotive Research and Innovation
• Culture and Social Change
• Environment and Ecosystems
• Health and Wellness

Cross Border Strategies has also been identified as an emerging thematic area of priority.

The University of Windsor’s proximity to the border between Canada and the United States provides a unique opportunity to pursue international research.  International research is being conducted in all of the thematic areaas.  Objective 1.7 under Research Objectives in the SRP states:  Establish strategic research partnerships with universities in other countries that support the University's strategic research direction.
