We often think of a job as a place to make a living but work is really so much more. Jobs and careers often define who we are, how we see ourselves, and how others see us. Fair wages, clean, healthy and safe workplaces, interesting and stimulating work, all make a huge difference in our lives. Yet we often don't thinkabout why we are working where we are, why work is the way it is, and what can be done to make it better.
The Certificate in Work & Employment Issues is about revealing and understanding the importance of work in our lives, it's about grappling with the problems, limitations and challenges of workplaces, and ultimately, it's about figuring out ways to make improvements for all workers.
