International Students' Orientation (Day 1 of 3)

The International Students’ Orientation is designed to help International Students get acquainted with the important services and resources necessary to begin their university life. It aims to help students with the transition into the Canadian culture and to build an understanding with the facilities that are available.
The first day of Orientation includes an introduction speech by the President, Vice Provost and Director of Student Development and Support followed by presentations by International Student Advisor, ISS, Campus Police and much more

An information session will be held for the parents of all 2011–2012 residence students. Before your parents head home, make sure they drop by to have all of their last minute questions answered and enjoy some complimentary nibbles from Food Services. Representatives from Residence & Food Services, Student Development and Support and the UWSA will be on hand to answer all questions. Windsor Rocks! Xtreme Challenge

Calling all Windsor-Essex County U of W students!!!

 If you live in Windsor-Essex County, we want YOU for the Windsor Rocks! Xtreme Challenge!
Test your skills in the ultimate competition among University of Windsor Students. Windsor-Essex County U of W students are invited to join a team to compete in a series of challenges throughout Windsor Welcome Week. Your team can choose to attend several events throughout Windsor Welcome Week to earn team points. Some of the events include Adrenaline Rush, the Lancer Football Tailgate and Pep Rally, River’s Edge Beach Party, Campus Community Clean-up, and Shinerama. The team with the most points wins the WRXC Plaque and an amazing grand prize!
More details will be provided at the first challenge – the Windsor Rocks! Climbing Wall – on Sunday, September 4th. This is your first chance to meet your WRXC team members and compete against other teams in thrilling events like the rock climbing wall and other ultimate team challenges!

Camp on Campus

Can YOU survive the Windsor Welcome Weekend?

How can you make it out to attend all these campus events on Sunday and Monday?? The answer is simple, don’t leave! For the first time in UWindsor history, “Camp on Campus” at this outdoor extravaganza!

All campers are first-year students and are welcome to set up Sunday (Sept 4) and stay the night. After setting up, go to all the events on Sunday! Fill up at our Pasta Dinner and see the hilarious Harlan Cohen featuring his best –selling book “The Naked Roommate”! End the night by hitting one of our most sought-after events; the Graffiti Party!! After meeting tons of people (and having their names signed all over you to prove it) go back to your tents and prepare for round 2!

After camp check-out on Monday, refuel with a UWSA pancake breakfast and head out to the Lancer Tailgate party! Enjoy some free food before our Windsor Lancers take on the Toronto Blues in our first game of the year! Make sure to wear your Lancer colours and be ready to make some noise! After a hopeful Lancer victory, run over to Fraser’s Mind  Comedy Show in the Quad for an awesome twist on hypnosis, or head back to The Thirsty Scholar for another pub event! .

After Harlan's presentation, join us in the pub.  Each first year student will be given a plain white t-shirt and a marker so that you can sign each others' shirts.  At the end of the night, everyone will have t-shirts to take home that have been signed by all their new friends from UWindsor.  It's better than the Facebook wall!  This is an all ages event so come out and check out your student publ.  T-shirts are limited, so arrive early.
