The Windsor Engineering Code of Ethics (W.E.C.O.E.)

By adapting this code, members of the Faculty of Engineering community including students and staff confirm their dedication and personal and academic excellence.   By becoming an Engineering student, faculty member or staff member at the University of Windsor, we are obliged and expected to strive for the highest levels of achievements and virtues suggested by the following ideals:

  • As a member of the University of Windsor community, I will
  • Practice personal and academic integrity.
  • Respect the dignity and individuality of all persons.
  • Respect the rights and property of others.
  • Take responsibility of my own personal and academic commitments.
  • Contribute to our community to gain fair, cooperative and honest inquiry and learning.
  • Respect and strive to learn from differences in people, ideas and opinions.
  • Refrain and discourage behaviours which threaten the freedom and respect that every individual deserves.

This pledge provides a strong foundation in the pursuit of all our professional and personal goals. The upholding of these ideals by the Faulty of Engineering community will result in a positive impact on our community and reputation. In addition to the Faculty of Engineering's code of ethics, you must always keep in mind that, there are certain standards that all University students must uphold

There are also certain behaviours which are unacceptable.  Among these are

  • plagiarism

  • false representation 

  • exam misconduct
