Speak Up, Speak Out: Laura Wood

Laura Wood

“When I first walked into a Women’s Studies class, I had no expectations. I thought it would just be another course where you listen to the lecture, study the notes and do the exam. Being in Women’s Studies has turned out to be something completely different. While in the classroom, your eyes are opened to new ideas and a new understanding of the world around you. When you are in Women’s Studies, you are really getting an experience along with an education. The professors are down to earth and easy to talk and relate to. They explain theories and concepts in a way that is enlightening and may positively change the way you think about the world. Women’s Studies has challenged me to think outside the box, to stand up for what I believe in, and to have confidence in these beliefs.”
