Speak Up, Speak Out: Rachel Kovach

“I started university as an English major and I really didn’t feel that it was for me, which made my adjustment to university life difficult. In the second semester of my first year I took my first Women’s Studies class: Women in Canadian Society. This class showed me so many new ways of thinking. I gained a new perspective about my life and the world around me. I quickly changed my major to Women’s Studies! All of the classes have really challenged me on a personal level to examine everything from how I form my opinions to how I speak. One thing that Women’s Studies has really helped me figure out is how I really feel about a topic and how to express my opinion. I have really enjoyed my experiences in Women’s Studies.”
