

Authors should check references and quotations before submitting a manuscript and are responsible for obtaining permission to reprint extracts and reproduce illustrations. Copies of permission forms should be supplied with the final manuscript. All necessary credits and acknowledgements should be included in the figure legends. Authors must also perform a preemption check so as to ensure the originality, applicability and relevance of the manuscript.
The document must be double spaced with half inch margins and should not exceed 20,000 words including footnotes. Footnotes should conform to the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation (McGill Guide, 6th edition). Please note that submissions with endnotes will not be accepted. Electronic and hardcopy manuscripts submitted for consideration must be double spaced. Only Microsoft Word format is acceptable, and must be accompanied by a separate page containing the author's address, telephone number(s) and e-mail address.
The WRLSI adheres to the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. (University of Chicago Press, 2003) for all issues in relation to grammar and punctuation.
The WRLSI does not accept submissions that are currently under consideration for publication by other journals.
The WRLSI Editorial Board will award two $500 J.S.D. Tory Writing Awards to student authors whose analytic, research and writing ethic evidence great promise in the future practice of law.
All papers submitted to WRLSI will be considered for both publication and presentation at the Annual Canadian Law Student Conference. This Conference allows prospective contributors to have their papers reviewed and commented on in a workshop setting. The Conference takes place over a two-day period in Windsor between late February and late March. The Conference is attended by University of Windsor Faculty of Law professors, interested students, practicing lawyers, judges and WRLSI Editors. The WRLSI will provide transportation and lodging for Conference authors living outside of Windsor. Prizes of $500 will be awarded to the top Conference papers and presenters. The Top Conference Paper will be automatically published in Volume 29.
