University of Windsor Alumni Mental Wellness series

In partnership with the department of Human Resources, the Alumni Association is pleased to offer a new Mental Wellness series. We have joined with the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association to host three, one-hour webinars. They will be delivered by Alumna Jenny-Lee Almeida  BA ’05, ’07 a mental health educator, facilitator and trainer.

Mind Your Moments: Bringing Mindfulness into Everyday Life
Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment. Mindfulness takes practice and effort. This session will provide an overview of the concepts of mindfulness theory to promote personal wellbeing and practical techniques to reduce “mental clutter”, stay focused, and be attentive in-the-moment.

Seasonal Affective Disorder & Coping During Lockdown 
The winter months can be quite difficult for many people. The decrease in temperature and daylight combined with being in the midst of a global pandemic can make seasonal affective disorder (SAD) season more difficult than usual this year. This webinar will provide an overview of SAD and evidence-based strategies, tools and resources.
