The Odette Accounting Area offers a wide range of courses helping students develop an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of topics in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Auditing & Assurance, Taxation, Finance and Performance Management.
Odette Accounting courses are designed for students interested in accounting and managerial positions in public accounting, government, private sector, healthcare and academic organizations among others.
Students interested in accounting can follow one of the following paths or enrol in individual courses.
Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting Specialization
An Accounting Specialization will provide students with the ability to seek accounting jobs that do not require a professional accounting designation. Students that complete the Accounting Specialization will also have completed some of the requirements towards the Chartered Professional Accounting designation.
Gate-in-course - Minimum grade of "65" in each

A minimum average of "67" in the following:

Capstone course - Minimum grade of "70"
- ACCT-4570, Advanced Accounting I

Post Graduate Certificate in Accounting (PGCA)
The PGCA is designed for students with a non-business undergraduate degree interested in pursuing a career in accounting. Students who have completed the PGCA will have completed the prerequisite courses for the Fast Track MBA- Professional Accounting Specialization or for CPA Ontario’s Professional Education Program (PEP).
MBA with a Professional Accounting Specialization (MBA-PAS)
The CPA Ontario accredited Fast Track MBA-PAS Program is designed to provide students with the ability to complete the Professional Education (PEP) component of the CPA Certification Program while earning an MBA degree. Students who have successfully completed MBA-PAS are ready to write the CFE without having to take any additional courses.
