Teaching Opportunities

The teaching opportunities we offer in England and Scotland fall into the following main categories:

Long Term Teaching Jobs
Schools always need qualified teachers to cover unfilled vacancies, maternity leave or long-term absences. Such posts can last anywhere between six weeks to a whole academic year. So, if you want the security of a long-term teaching job or simply prefer to teach in just one school then this option will suit you best.

Daily Supply Teaching
Every day TimePlan receives hundreds of requests from schools for supply teachers to cover short term absence - anything from one or two days to one or two weeks. So, for those teachers who do not wish to commit to a long-term teaching position, prefer to experience a variety of different schools or simply don't want to work every day, daily supply teaching is the ideal option. Complete our quick online application form and we will be in touch to discuss Daily Supply Teaching.

Guaranteed Work
Our guaranteed work agreement offers the security of a long-term teaching job with the variety of daily supply teaching. We literally guarantee you daily supply work and pay you even if we have no work for you on a particular day. In return we ask that you guarantee your availability to us. Contact your local TimePlan Office to discuss our Guaranteed Work Programme or fill in our online application form.

Permanent Teaching Jobs
TimePlan also assists schools to fill their permanent teaching vacancies. Under our permanent recruitment scheme, you will be contracted directly by the school and paid directly by them on a monthly basis, enjoying full employment rights. Apply Online now to TimePlan and we will be in touch within 24 hours.

The learning never stops with TimePlan! We will offer you free Professional Development courses within the UK, as well as insightful, informative webinars that are delivered by teachers who have taught in the UK and cover all aspects of teaching across the pond!

In addition to all of these opportunities - we will give you 2 FREE European Holidays!

About Foresight International Education Center

In our program, operating in schools in Taipei, Taiwan and Shanghai, China, we recruit certified teachers for full-time contract positions (Grades 1 to 12), with a preference given to OCT teachers, given their depth of understanding of the Ontario teaching philosophy and the teaching/learning process.

Foresight International Education Center has partnerships with a number of school boards in Ontario, including Lambton Kent D.S.B., York Region D.S.B., and Toronto Catholic D.S.B., and has worked with these boards to deliver ESL programs to Taiwanese students for many years.  Six years ago, F.I.E.C., with support from Ontario school board curriculum consultants and principals, developed an ESL program, similar to our Ontario French Immersion programs. The program is not an "after school" or "cram school" program, rather it is a program where students spend approximately 50% of their school day in an English Immersion setting. Should they desire, these students then go on to further their education in an Ontario setting, having developed the knowledge and skills outlined in the Ontario Language curriculum.

This current school year, we have 75 qualified teachers, many of them new graduates, working in our program in 5 schools. All of our teachers are part of a team, have grade partners, and are supervised and supported by Ontario-trained professionals both in person and online. Additionally, we have a number of retired principals, Literacy Consultants, and an ELL consultant, all Ontario trained, who provide ongoing support and professional learning for our teachers. Our teachers are provided time within their weekly schedule for grade partner planning, moderated marking, team meetings, and professional learning sessions.

We support all our teachers upon their arrival to Taiwan/China. Our teachers have a series of comprehensive Orientation sessions prior to the beginning of the school year, are provided with quarantine-appropriate hotel accommodations until they are supported in finding an apartment, are assisted with working visas and travel during COVID 19, banking, insurance etc. to ensure all their living needs are met.  At this time, it is unknown as to whether foreign teachers will be able to travel into Taiwan or China this coming August; we will keep our fingers crossed that all is well again at that time.

Finally, we feel it is important for you to know the majority of the Ontario teachers who have worked in our program, upon returning to Ontario, have been successful in obtaining teaching positions, largely due to the teaching experience they have gained while working in our program.
