The Office of Career Development and Experiential Learning, in partnership with the Faculty of Nursing are excited to invite students and alumni to the 2023 Nursing Career Fair. Hospitals, healthcare organizations, and agencies with employment opportunities will be joining us to provide students and alumni an opportunity to learn about full-time, part-time, and occassional nursing opportunities.
 
Admission is FREE for students and alumni. Nursing students from all year levels are encouraged to attend and learn about the various opportunities available.
 
Tips for students planning to attend: Research the organizations attendingbring copies of your resume, practice your pitch, and dress for success! 
Attend the Get Ready for Nursing Fair Virtual Resume Workshop on November 14th to learn about how to write an effective resume.

Windsor Regional Hospital is the 15th largest hospital in the Province of Ontario and the 7th largest community teaching hospital, serving a population of about 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County along with providing tertiary and quaternary care to thousands more.

The hospital is responsible for all acute care services in Windsor and currently operates out of two campuses - the Met Campus and the Ouellette Campus. Family Respite Services (FRS) works with 1200 families caring for children with disabilities. Over 600 Direct Support Providers work directly in families homes this is 4-6 hours/week. Many of these children live with a Medical Health Challenge.

FRS has two staffed homes for children with complex needs to access afterschool crisis programs, weekend programs and a specialized summer day camp program. Many nursing students work at these homes 30 hours/week. FRS provides shortbreaks to caregivers, while children have the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities with a Direct Support Provider.

In February of 2011, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) branches in Sarnia Lambton and Chatham Kent, Ontario merged to form one branch: CMHA Lambton Kent. The merger created a strong branch capable of providing professional mental health experts and additional resources to serve the Lambton Kent region. In Lambton Kent, CMHA provides a wide range of innovative and individualized services as well as community and workplace education to over 1800 adults and youth each year.
